MOUNT BUFFALO RESORT BULLETIN
RELEASE DATE: 10TH MAY, 2007
Welcome all Buffalonian diehards to this edition of our regular Update Information Page. As promised in past updates, we are dedicated to ensuring you, the general public and lovers of the Mount Buffalo area, are kept up to date on all things relevant to the mountain. To assist us in honouring our commitment to you, we have adapted this Information Page to incorporate some life-form and interactivity and as such, it is our pleasure to introduce you to Buffy, the Resort mascot.
Within our “Buffy Column”, we will provide you with a variety of links to various publications, statements and media outlets which will enable you to readily access information, not only as it comes to hand, but also past media releases which you may find to be an interesting read. It is our objective to provide you with as much all-round information as possible in our efforts to educate and reassure you of our very best intentions at all times for the future of Mount Buffalo.
We welcome and encourage your interaction with Buffy and would very much appreciate you taking the time to email your story to us at reservations@mtbuffaloresort.com.au. Perhaps you have happy memories you would like to share, an opinion to express, or simply wish to register your support, then this is the forum for you. Your support of Buffy’s Mountain is invaluable to us. Please click on the appropriate link to register your details and permission to use this information in support of the restoration of the Resort.
As current caretakers of the Mountain, we take our responsibilities very seriously. At present, a skeleton crew of dedicated, on-site personnel is working hard to ensure not only does the general upkeep and maintenance of the Chalet and its various outbuildings continue unabated, but most importantly the buildings are kept maintained to the highest possible levels as decreed by the various health & safety governmental bodies, particularly in relation to the safety of the general public.
Provision of a 24hr security system is also of paramount importance to us and these dedicated crew members make themselves available around-the-clock “24/7” to ensure the Mountain receives the very highest level of service whilst under our care.
With the changing of the seasons it becomes more important than ever to ensure weatherproofing treatments are carried out, the sewage treatment system and generators are maintained and kept in good working order, and the heating system remains operational to prevent dampness from creeping into these revered and historic buildings.
Mother Nature has not been kind to the area of late, with the very recent spate of bush fires adding to the severity of the drought conditions which has made garden maintenance, particularly in preparation for the winter months ahead, just that little bit harder.
Throw into this mix, the maintenance of the historical machinery, the museum, its photographs and documentation, and there is very little “down-time” for the “Folks on the Hill” and their support crew back here at base camp. It is a testament to our love of the area and our respect of the grand old lady perched on top of the Mountain. As caretakers, we will continue to preserve, maintain and upkeep this historical icon.Available Link List as at 11th May, 2007
